R&A Hotel Group acquires Telford Whitehouse Hotel

Telford College originally purchased the Whitehouse hotel in 2014 to launch its hospitality and catering courses.

Raj Handa of the R and A Hotel Group has acquired the Telford Whitehouse Hotel in Shropshire.

According to The Shropshire Star, the 90-bedroom hotel, which was owned by Telford College, was put up on the market for £2.5m.

Handa acquired the freehold of the site which adjoins Telford Football Club, which includes  bedrooms and hotel reception area, but excludes the ground floor spa and gym and restaurant situated on the first floor, alongside conference facilities, which are owned by the college.

Graham Guest, CEO of Telford College told The Shropshire Star: “We have been looking for a buyer ever since the merger, and have been talking to many interested parties over the past two and a half years.”
