Pride of Britain Hotels has announced that Lainston House, in Hampshire, has become the latest property to join its 50-strong luxury hotel collection.
Located just four miles from the historic city of Winchester, the 17th Century hotel sits in 63 acres of landscaped gardens and parkland, and features 50 rooms and suites containing antique furniture, roll-top baths and velvet armchairs.
Additionally, the hotel’s fine-dining restaurant, The Avenue, takes its name from a mile-long avenue of lime trees which it overlooks.
Alongside a six-course tasting menu and vegetarian tasting menu, the restaurant’s à la carte options include dishes such as Venison loin with parsnip, quince, cappuccino and garlic, and Crown prince ravioli with chestnut, pear, rosemary goat’s curd and nori.
General Manager, Sunil Kanjanghat, said: “Lainston House is delighted to be joining Pride of Britain’s prestigious collection of hotels. We are based in a beautiful part of the Hampshire countryside, yet close enough to explore the delights of historic Winchester.”
Peter Hancock, chief executive, Pride of Britain Hotels, added: “It gives us great pleasure to welcome Lainston House to Pride of Britain Hotels – the hotel will be an asset to the collection.”
