Stirling’s Hotel Colessio has appointed Kevin Keenan as its new general manager.

Keenan joins Hotel Colessio from Perthshire’s Murrayshall Country House Hotel and Golf Club, and has over 18 years experience managing hotel teams across the United Kingdom, with time spent at South Devon’s Thurlestone Hotel as well as five years at the St. Andrews Russacks Hotel.

Keenan’s appointment follows a recent investment of 300k at the Focus Hotel-owned hotel, which saw the renovation of the Colessio Grill, the ballroom and a number of bedrooms earlier this year.

Keenan said: “to have the opportunity to work with the teams at Focus Hotels Management and Hotel Colessio is really exciting. The hotel occupies a unique position within the city, and I’m looking forward to working with my new team and welcoming our guests moving forward.”

Lynn Hood, Focus Hotels Management’s COO, added: “Kevin joins us with a wealth of experience having worked in some of the country’s finest individual properties.

“Kevin will focus on forging links with the business community and playing a key part in Stirling’s recent focus to become an economic and cultural powerhouse.”
